To Own the Libs
A downloadable novel
How far would you go?
Seven months ago, Lily started transitioning.
It had been a quick, unexpected decision: meeting her classmate Anna and Anna’s theyfriend Elanor at a party awoke something in her, and she came out the very next day.
There were some hiccups along the way, to be sure. Getting from there to here has been neither simple nor easy, but with the help of her friends and her girlfriend, Lily managed to overcome all obstacles in her way: she’s now a happy, fulfilled young woman, instead of the angry and depressed boy she used to be.
When she and her girlfriend are about to become intimate for the first time, however, Lily realises she can’t stand it any longer. She has to come clean. She has a confession to make.
She’s been pretending to be trans the whole time.
A young man from a conservative background decides to "own the libs" by transitioning, thereby proving anyone can do it, even if they're not trans.

First of your books I've read, and it was touching, and sweet, and very adorable. And the scene where Lily comes clean to her friends and loved ones about her "lie" hit me very, very hard.
I spent 31 years detransitioned due to abuse, lying to myself and others about who and what I really was, hating myself the entire time. When I finally had the safety and security and courage to retransition two years ago, I felt like I had lied to those I loved, my friends, and particularly my friends who are trans as well. It's still something I struggle with, even though I'm thrilled and happy to *finally* be the woman I am and always wanted to be.
So yes, that scene touched me very deeply. And yes, my friends - particularly my trans friends - reacted much the same way as Lily's friends did.
I very much look forward to reading the rest of your work.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm glad you're finally in a good place where you can express yourself ❤️
This is the best one of the series yet! An excellent finale(?) to the Bradford McKinley Chronicles <3 I legit couldn't put this down (even more so than the first 3).
Thank you! And yes, it's the finale... For now. I'm in the process of writing two further books in the series, which you can find on my Patreon for now, and I'll publish here once they're done 🙂
Tore through this in a single day. Extremely good book. Love Lily with all my heart. Hilarious what happened to Joe in the epilogue.
Thank you for reading! I'm glad you enjoyed it ❤
A fun read. Worth it for sure.
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it :)
I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this story so much! I had already read the original before, but the postscript was incredibly touching and a wonderful way to tie everything up.
I really loved getting some additional closure for the characters in Performative Masculinity too. I hadn’t made the connection until towards the very end, but I loved the way it recontextualized things.
This is genuinely just an extremely heartfelt story and I really enjoyed reading it again. Thank you so much! ^^
You're very welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed my book! Thank you for reading, and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment, I really appreciate it 😊
